Homesick


As some of you know, as I seem to talk about it all the time, I have just spend a year in the USA working at Disney World. The exact dates of my being out of Australia are actually December 19th 2017 to January 17th 2019. And boy oh boy am I missing home.

When this blog post goes live I will have been back in Australia exactly one day. So the list I am making now is everything I miss and am looking forward to seeing again when I get home.


 The first, and most important is my Cat, Tinker. I miss him so much and have been missing him since about June 2018. My cat and I are very close, he always sits or lays next to me when I am working on my laptop and will sleep on my bed. He is also just cute and fluffy and the more I type the more I miss him.

I am also missing my friends. A lot. My Australia friends and I would regularly hang out and do things together, sometimes it would be eating out at a dessert bar or a buffet. Other times it would be going and having a BBQ on the beach or a simple games night with pizza at home. We would catch up 2 or 3 times a month as a group but we would see each other more often in pairs as well. I am looking forward to getting back into games night as I haven’t done very many this year (2018).


 My Nain and Taid! These are my grandma and grandpa; I miss them so much. They aren’t very good with the tech stuff so I haven’t been able to talk to them as much as I would have liked to whilst I was away. I know I’m going to have lots o long catch-ups when I am back at home.


The last thing I am looking forward and that I have missed so much is REAL food. I love American food. Chick – fil – a is amazing and honestly deserves a post all of its own, however, I do miss Aussie food. American food is very sweet, even the bread for burgers contains a lot of sugar so it's going to be nice to have some salty and real savoury food. I am most looking forward to having sausage rolls again! I did make some homemade sausage rolls a few time, but nothing compares to the ones that are made at my local bakery! I am also looking forward to a real BBQ and sausages on bread, no more hot dogs, YAY. Proper chips, not French fries, but hot thick cut chips. And when I say thick, I mean THICC chips with gravy!

I have missed lots of other things as well, like having sister time with Zoe, driving and not having to catch the buses, especially Disney buses. I also just miss Adelaide in general, I miss the feel of the city and I miss how close everything is to each other. As much as I am going to miss Orlando and Disney and my friends, I am looking forward to going home. At least for a little bit anyway.

Recently I got back from holiday in Sydney and it was so much fun! I got to see so many iconic sights, you can go to my previous post and have a look at some of my pictures from my trip.  Whilst there I ate at a lot of really nice places, one of my favourites was Sweethearts Rooftop Bar. I went on a date here and it was beautiful, I loved the atmosphere and aesthetic. It was partly undercover with some open areas for dancing. Without sound too old, the music was a little loud to have a conversation at, however, we did go on a Saturday night so it may have been different in the middle of the week as it was more club-like the night I went.  Unfortunately, smoking was permitted on the rooftop bar as well, it was only in the open are parts, however, the rooftop is not huge so the smoke made its way over to where I was sitting pretty fast.   When looking at the bar online it said we needed to book, however when we arrived the bartender told us ...

My Current Goals in Life

My Life right now is absolutely wonderful! I am achieving one of my lifelong dreams of working for Walt Disney World and it is so amazing. I don't really have much else to update you on I just wanted to let everyone know how happy I am! I am also starting to plan and make steps towards achieving my next big goal, to live in New York City for at least a year! I have started to look at the average prices of apartments so I know how much I will need to save.
