Life working at Disney

Image
2018 I worked as a quick service food and beverage cast member at ESPN Wide World of Sports. This is the sports complex owned and operated by Disney. And this is where my home location was for my full year at Disney. And I loved it. This is just a quick snapshot of what working at ESPN was like. Admittedly I did cry a little when I found out I wasn’t going to be working in one of the parks, however, ESPN ended up being the BEST place for me to work, and here’s why… The year at ESPN started with the end of football season so we had some of the ProBall events as the complex, this is when some of the big players in each team would come together for a game just for fun. I was also lucky enough to work during the Superbowl. We had it on every screen in the complex and everyone was cheering and going crazy. It was super interesting to watch, I had worked a 14-hour shift that day and I was still 'zazzed' by the end of it because of all the energy that was in the room f...

Homesick

As some of you know, as I seem to talk about it all the time, I have just spend a year in the USA working at Disney World. The exact dates of my being out of Australia are actually December 19 th 2017 to January 17 th 2019. And boy oh boy am I missing home. When this blog post goes live I will have been back in Australia exactly one day. So the list I am making now is everything I miss and am looking forward to seeing again when I get home. The first, and most important is my Cat, Tinker. I miss him so much and have been missing him since about June 2018. My cat and I are very close, he always sits or lays next to me when I am working on my laptop and will sleep on my bed. He is also just cute and fluffy and the more I type the more I miss him. I am also missing my friends. A lot. My Australia friends and I would regularly hang out and do things together, sometimes it would be eating out at a dessert bar or a buffet. Other times it would be going and having a BBQ on...

Move in Day

Quick disclaimer. Some of the post this year will be about my Disney College Program (DCP) experience. Some of these things happened a year ago and details about Disney may have changed since then. Any questions about DCP let me know!                                        Day one of DCP involved us to move into our apartment. There are four apartment complexes that DCP people can stay in, Vista Way, The Commons, Patterson Court and Chatham Square.   I found out I was staying in a 4 bedroom, 8 person apartment. That’s A LOT of girls to live with. All the apartments are separated by gender and at the time of my program, separated by age. Everyone under 21 was grouped and everyone over 21 was grouped. This was because the legal age for drinking in the USA is 21. You could also pick the people you lived with or go completely random, which is what I did.  One of the c...

Welcome to 2019

Hello! And welcome to the year 2019, New year, new opportunities, a new outlook on life. For me, the start of 2019 means leaving Disney behind. I am moving back home to Australia and need to start looking for an ‘Adult Job’, that is a terrifying thought. Before I do that though, I am starting the new year off by going to the Bahamas for a few days to rest, recover and reset from my crazy year at Disney. I didn’t post a lot last year, because I was indeed very busy working, living and breathing everything Disney had to offer me. This year I do want to work on this blog and get back into YouTube. So below is a list of goals I want to achieve in 2019. Goals   YouTube My goal for YouTube this year is to post a video every Tuesday. I missed posting Tasha Tuesday’s and can’t wait to talk about my experience doing the Disney College Program and getting more into Skits and possible even miniseries. I would also like to do Mad March 2019. This one is go...
