Long Distant Love

Image
For those of you who don't know, I am in a long distant relationship. My Boyfriend currently lives in Orlando Florida, whilst I live in Adelaide Australia. That is 10,056 miles or 16,184 kilometres apart. The time is between 15 and a half hours and 13 and a half hours apart depending on daylight savings.    We met, as many people in my situation for, on my Disney College Program. He was my coordinator and I was his cast member. He moved locations and we got closer and then November 18th he asked me officially to be his girlfriend. It was very romantic. Maybe one day he will be in a video with me and we can go through the details together, a little hint for when he reads this. This post is just about my experience so far with being in a long term relationship. Going through the best and worst parts of it. Firstly we have been together *officially* for 5 months. There was the awkward are we aren't we dating for a month beforehand so officially 5 mont...

The Pursuit of a Better Me

Image
This is something that I don't talk about online because it is a  very personal topic to me and that is my weight. Now the reason it's so personal it because like a lot of people it can be embarrassing to put all that information out in the world to be made fun of or judged for one's appearance. I know I am not a big girl, I know that to most people I look like a healthy weight and that I am not overweight by pure looks. However for my height, I am considered overweight and to myself, I am generally unhappy with my weight at the point in time. In 2018 I lost a lot of weight very quickly without ever really trying. I was broke so I ate a lot of food at home, I was walking more because of work and I was doing a work out once a week to relieve stress from work and have some me time. It was these unintentional things that led me to lose around 10kg in about a month a half. I looked in the mirror one day and was amazed at what I looked like. I went out and bought ne...

Sugar and Spice

Image
Recently I got back from holiday in Sydney and it was so much fun! I got to see so many iconic sights, you can go to my previous post and have a look at some of my pictures from my trip.  Whilst there I ate at a lot of really nice places, one of my favourites was Sweethearts Rooftop Bar. I went on a date here and it was beautiful, I loved the atmosphere and aesthetic. It was partly undercover with some open areas for dancing. Without sound too old, the music was a little loud to have a conversation at, however, we did go on a Saturday night so it may have been different in the middle of the week as it was more club-like the night I went.  Unfortunately, smoking was permitted on the rooftop bar as well, it was only in the open are parts, however, the rooftop is not huge so the smoke made its way over to where I was sitting pretty fast.   When looking at the bar online it said we needed to book, however when we arrived the bartender told us ...

Complicated Complexes: Housing at Disney

Housing information at Disney. Disney College Program (DCP) is such an amazing experience and I highly recommend anyone and everyone do it! So here is some information on the housing complexes that might be useful. Please be aware that this information is from my knowledge of the DCP complexes from Jan 2018-Jan 2019. I know a new housing complex is being built and things are changing around, however, I'm sure this information will still come in useful! One thing to note beforehand is that you will always share a room with someone else. Houses with 3 - 6 occupancy will usually have between 1 and 3 rooms with double or triple occupancy per room. this means single beds for you and your roommate or bunk beds for those lucky enough to have 3 people to a room. So to start with there are four housing complexes, The Commons, Chatham Square, Patterson Square and Vista Way. These are all connected by bus or some are close enough to walk between as well! The C...

Flower and Garden

Image
Every year EPCOT puts on 3 festivals, Arts, Flower and Garden and Food and Wine. My Favourite out of these 3 is Flower and Garden. I just think EPCOT looks so pretty with all the floral arrangements and character hedges. The food is also pretty good if I do say so myself. The photos from today's blog post are from a Flower and Garden Festival 2018, I am so sad I am not able to attend this year, however, I am living vicariously through all my friends facebook posts! Flower and Garden offer a range of spring-themed food and drinks (both for the kids and adults) my favourite last year was the violet lemonade (kid friendly) and the rose slushy (adult only). My favourite food as definitely the frushi, which is fruit sushi (pictured below). I am going to try really hard to get back to Flower and Garden for 2020! Let me know what EPCOT festival is your favourite and why! Thanks for Reading, See you next week! - Tasha LINKS: MAIN CH...

Life in the Disney College Program

Image
So as some of you know by now I did was apart of the Disney College Program (DCP) in 2018 and LOVED IT. In today's blog post id like to share more of an overall experience of what living was like whilst in DCP. In my last Blog Post , I talked about work life, but today will be almost everything outside of that. The first thing to note is that as an International person it is VERY expensive to get over to Disney. Before I get started I am going to be brutally honest for those wanting to go and do the program, it is expensive and takes some time to even get to Disney, especially as an international person I talk about it in  THIS  blog post.  Is the cost worth it though? ABSOLUTELY! As a lover of all things Disney I personally think that this experience is worth it and unlike any other. HOW EXPENSIVE? I can only talk from an Australian point of view and it is more expensive coming from an international country rather than from another stat...

It's a Small World

Image
As someone who has travelled a lot, and who have friends who travel, I have had the opportunity to make friends all around the world.  This is both a blessing and a curse. It is so wonderful knowing people from different countries, it means I get to learn about life in other cultures and places. It sucks because of the time zones and trying to talk and catching up. it's hard when everyone is busy and you go weeks or months without talking. and sometimes years between visits. I am still learning how to keep in touch with everyone I love from around the world, sometimes I will message them, sometimes the other way around. It's even harder to find a date and place to meet up in especially if there is a group of us wanting to catch up. Money and time off work all play a part and when most people can meet up and two cant it just doesn't feel right. Sometimes you just have to do your best to keep the connections with people, and the connection you can keep wi...
