Long Distant Love


For those of you who don't know, I am in a long distant relationship. My Boyfriend currently lives in Orlando Florida, whilst I live in Adelaide Australia. That is 10,056 miles or 16,184 kilometres apart. The time is between 15 and a half hours and 13 and a half hours apart depending on daylight savings.  


 We met, as many people in my situation for, on my Disney College Program. He was my coordinator and I was his cast member. He moved locations and we got closer and then November 18th he asked me officially to be his girlfriend. It was very romantic. Maybe one day he will be in a video with me and we can go through the details together, a little hint for when he reads this.

This post is just about my experience so far with being in a long term relationship. Going through the best and worst parts of it. Firstly we have been together *officially* for 5 months. There was the awkward are we aren't we dating for a month beforehand so officially 5 months.  2 of those months together were in person in Orlando and 3 of them have been long distance.


One of the hardest parts was going from seeing each other almost every day to no in-person contact.  We are very lucky, we text every day even if it's just a simple good morning or goodnight. We try to facetime at least 3 times a week, sadly it doesn't always happen as we both have work or other commitments. 

Our relationship is, in my opinion, is fantastic. We have great communication and trust so we don't have any trouble or concerns when the other person goes out and we can't talk to each other that day. A lot about being in a long distance relationship is trust and communication. You have to be very honest about how you feel and if you are feeling even if it's hard.


One of the best things is getting to see each other in person again after a long time. Andrew and I went 2 months before he came over to visit me in Australia.  We spent 2 weeks together and it was wonderful. I miss him a lot.


We have a trip planned for September where I will be going over to Orlando for a week and then to two of us will head to California and go to Disneyland together. It will be 5 months until we see each other again. It sucks. I wish I could see him every single day.

Recently I got back from holiday in Sydney and it was so much fun! I got to see so many iconic sights, you can go to my previous post and have a look at some of my pictures from my trip.  Whilst there I ate at a lot of really nice places, one of my favourites was Sweethearts Rooftop Bar. I went on a date here and it was beautiful, I loved the atmosphere and aesthetic. It was partly undercover with some open areas for dancing. My Current Goals in Life

My Life right now is absolutely wonderful! I am achieving one of my lifelong dreams of working for Walt Disney World and it is so amazing. I don't really have much else to update you on I just wanted to let everyone know how happy I am! I am also starting to plan and make steps towards achieving my next big goal, to live in New York City for at least a year! I have started to look at the average prices of apartments so I know how much I will need to save. Homesick

As some of you know, as I seem to talk about it all the time, I have just spend a year in the USA working at Disney World. The exact dates of my being out of Australia are actually December 19 th 2017 to January 17 th 2019. And boy oh boy am I missing home. When this blog post goes live I will have been back in Australia exactly one day. So the list I am making now is everything I miss and am looking forward to seeing again when I get home. The first, and most important is my Cat, Tinker. I miss him so much and have been missing him since about June 2018. My cat and I are very close, he always sits or lays next to me when I am working on my laptop and will sleep on my bed. He is also just cute and fluffy and the more I type the more I miss him.
