MAC and Star Trek 50th!
I love science fiction, and one of my favourite shows is Star Trek. Voyager and Next Generation being my go to's when it comes to marathons.
And as some of you know, I love makeup, especially lip products and MAC is one of my favourite brands for a classic lipstick.
What do these two things have in common? They both turned 50 in 2016! As a result, they teamed up to create a fantastic range of Star Trek inspired products. This line included mascara, false lashes, lips, eyeshadows and liners.
I ordered 5 of the lip products, 3 lipsticks and 2 glosses. All are lovely!
All three lipstick shades and lip glosses have tiny specks of glitter in them. As a result, it does feel as though you still have old bits of lip scrubs on your lips, and they glitter tends to dry them a little as well.
The first shade is a lovely gold titled 'LLAP'. Now I wasn't really sure about this colour when I ordered it, it was a last minute add because I thought it was a nice costume colour for Cosplay. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it out for the first time. Once again, this is gold and has gold glitter in it, it goes on smoothly but it drying because of the glitter. It is a nice colour for people who like nudes but want to explore with more 'experimental' colours and shades.
The second is this rose pink colour called 'Where no man has gone before'. This is the most wearable shade I have from the collection as it is the closest to a more conventional colour of lipstick. This product has golf flecks in it,. As a result, it gives the pink more dimension (it looks really nice in the sun)
The last lipstick shade is this dark purple with silver flecks of glitter called 'Kling-it-on'. When this shade goes on the lip, it is more of a muted purple-greyish colour rather than a deep purple. I was a little disappointed with this colour as I would have preferred it to be the deeper purple (similar to the shade cyber)
The two lip glosses as nice, they have slight colour that definitely pair well with the lipsticks, it keeps the lips moist without taking away any glitter flecks (as the lip gloss also contains glitter). I don't wear lip gloss alot as I am not a huge fan of having sticky lips, however these are nice to help give moisture back to the lips when the lipsticks dry them out.
All in all I love all of these products. I will link you all to the MAC page, however I don't believe these products are still avalibale.
Have a great week!
