High Hopes at the Hylander
This week I was lucky enough to get a 300 dollar voucher from Nova Radio to dine in at the Hylander Hotel. And let me say straight up that the food was delicious! Sadly there are only 2 photos as I was to busy enjoying the food and forgot to take anymore.
For dinner that was myself, my sister, my mum and my dad. We started off with three entrees between the four of us which was garlic bread, risotto balls and zucchini flowers. Personally the garlic bread and risotto balls were my favourite however my sister loved the zucchini flowers and is trying to find a way to replicate them at home.
We then all moved on to main course. My Dad ordered Kangaroo, Mum had salmon, my sister had a steak and I had chicken schnitzel. Everyone seemed to enjoy there meal a lot. The chicken was full of tons of moisture it was so good, my mouth is watering as I'm writing this post. We also ordered four side dishes that we shared between us. We had broccoli, heritage carrots, garlic mash potatoes and sweet potato fries. All of which were amazing. Out of the sides the garlic mash was my favourite.
We then moved on to dessert. At this point we weren't very hungry but because we had the voucher we each ordered a dessert. My sister had strawberry and cream with pistachio fairy floss (picture 1), Mum had ice cream with a shot of coffee and melted chocolate drizzled over the top, Dad had a pastry with nutella, jam and ice cream in the center of it and I had a classic warm double chocolate cake (picture 2). The chocolate cake was very rich and I wasn't able to finish it all (probably because of all the other food I had eaten beforehand).

The service at the restaurant was incredible, the staff were polite, and made sure we had everything we needed, they even asked on multiple occasions if we wanted anything else such as drinks or other small bits so we could spend the rest of the voucher which was really nice of them. And for anyone playing Pokemon GO, The Hylander is a poke-stop!
Overall my experience was 4/5 the food was delicious, the staff were very friendly and I would defiantly eat there again.
For anyone wondering in total we had
- 3 entrees
- 4 mains
- 4 sides
- 4 desserts
- 5 alcoholic beverages
- 1 lemonade
- 2 coffees
And our bill came to $238.40.
